Well I have been here in Northdown Street, East Regent Quarter (© Martin Mason) since March 1996. I was fortunate enough to get the house from British Rail before they were privatised (where are those companies now?) for close to a song. There were quite a few of us moving in at the same time which was handy as the shocking state of this area then... Now that the prostitiutes and other colourful characters have moved and the area has gone under some gentrification whith the Eurostar terminal completed in 2007, and our local pick-up joint (Tesco) there has been quite a few changes here.

First of all there was the change of my room (thanks to Marion Davis) who made wardrobes to die for and painted the room silver. I feel very Babylon 5 when I sleep at night.

Gas central heating was replaced and with the new gravity solution has cut the bills in half, the front of the house repaired and painted and the back bedroom (Chez Byrne) is all ready with a lovely bed and is most welcoming. Many have agreed.
