Time to explain for those readers who
have a slight inkling about what I get up to on some weekends during the year
when I disappear from CSKX, BBL and other places. You can see from this page
that it is something different! |

My career in OSMTH has been:
|
||||||||||||||||||||||
Since 2002 I have been a member of OSMTH, the modern version of the Poor
Fellow Soldiers of Christ and the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem, commonly
known as the Knights Templar. Despite what you read
in "The Da Vinci Code" we are not secret, masonic nor defending the
bloodline of the Christ, but a confratenal order
doing good deeds throughout the world. We are not secret, indeed we have a
seat as a NGO at the United Nations, so we are
pretty up front. We are divided up into Preceptories and a group of preceptories make up a Priory and all the priories make
up the global alliance. |

In 2002 I was in the Priory of Notre
Dame, St Mary of Magdalene, which was part of the Regency Templars but when
that took a direction I was not comfortable with, I applied and was accepted
to the Grand Priory of England and Wales, a more robust and happy band! This
Grand Priory has many aims but is mainly focused on two charitable areas:
Pilgrimage, where we help disadvantaged children to go on Christian
Pilgrimage, usually to the National Marian Shrine at Wallsingham
in England. The second (new) charity is the Heritage Trust, where we will be
assisting stonemasons in refurbishment of old buildings with a Templar
connection, Education and Outreach work and so on. I am now the Secretary of
the Heritage Trust. All is done under English Charity law so there is nothing
dodgy. Oh and for those wishing to know, we have no secrets, funny handshakes
and have male and female members and membership is open to all from any of
the Christian churches. We meet for four main Grand Priory meetings a year
and occasional other local meetings. I have met some really funny, witty and
fantastic people from all walks of life and really enjoy the visits to
Templar sites (there are lots in the UK) and the camaraderie. Oh and the
dressing up is fun too, even though some are a little envious of my hooded,
silk-lined church mantle! |

In 2018 the Grand Priors of the OSMTH
nations voted me in as International Grand Commander. This is a huge honour
for me. I am in
charge of them all and also our Untied Nations activities. I still have a
full time job as well... PHEW! |
