Our Civil Ceremony

Anthony and George are excited to be sharing their special day with friends and family from near and far. Our Civil Partership will take place in the old London Borough of Finsbury at the old Town Hall on the 29th May 2010. We have booked the Council Chamber and the Main Hall for the entire day, and a staffed, secure cloakroom on the ground floor.

This website has been created to give information to our guests and will be updated as each event approaches.

We insist that guests do not offer us gifts for our future lives together, but if you really want to give us a present, then choose something original from GoodGifts.org. Please remember to charge and bring along your digital cameras, iPhones, 35mm cameras (how quaint!) and take pictures for us to keep as mementoes of the day.

As there will be fairly energetic Scottish Country Dancing on the day, ladies may wish to bring along a change of shoes! Whilst there will be some reels, there will be slower dances too. For those guests who know the steps, please remember that there will be a "split" in the dance, where you should excuse yourself from your partner and get another guest, standing eagerly on the side, to join you for the second half of the dance. The dancing and bar will be located in the Main Hall. Feel free to move through to the Council Chamber whenever you need some quiet.

Of course the Town Hall is a non-smoking venue throughout. For us smokers, please leave by the front door and congregate there - but not for long as we want you back inside soon!

There will be a cash bar, with Whyte & McKay whisky (and other drinks).

There are ladies and gentlemen toilets on the first floor and also a disabled toilet. I have just seen some dreadful Civil Partnership pictures on Facebook, so please don't wear jeans nor ties with cartoons - Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day is particularly offensive!
